Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahu Wa Barakatuhu.
Alhamdullillah, as soon as our province moved to Alert Level 2, we managed to reopen our mosque for Jumah prayers. Our first two sessions took place on June 26th and both of them proceeded in an orderly manner.
We thank all those community members who pre-registered through MANAL website and attended the prayers in full compliance with public health regulations.
If you fulfill the age (12 years and older), health and travel related criteria we communicated in our previous announcements and if you wish to attend Jumah prayers this Friday, please stay tuned.
We will insha'Allah post new online pre-registration links at MANAL Website at 10 pm this Wednesday, July 1st.
Please kindly note that:
You will be admitted to a Jumah session ONLY IF you have successfully completed your online pre-registration for that session.
If you pre-registered for last week's Jumah but did not show up, you are not eligible to re-register and attend this week's Jumah (Even if you attempt to pre-register again, you will be sent a cancellation notification). This is as per the terms and conditions which you already agreed upon when pre-registering last week.
We urge our community to limit their registration to a maximum of one brother and one sister per family.
We thank you all for your kind understanding and cooperation.
Jazakumullahu Khairun.

Towards Mosque Reopening: Admission and Use of Mosque Premises
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Although we still do not know the exact day of our mosque reopening, our plan is to begin by hosting Jumah prayers only. We will take a gradual approach to proceed safely and minimize public health risks.
Since our usable capacity will significantly shrink after applying physical distancing rules, we plan to offer two (2) consecutive sessions of Jumah per week. Each session will be 20 minutes long in total. One Jumah session will be for brothers only, while the other one will be open to both brothers and sisters.
Before we reopen for Jumah prayers, we will post online pre-registration links at the MANAL Website (www.manal.ca). Admission to the mosque will be through online pre-registration only and your information will be collected for contact tracing purposes.
If the capacity is already full for both sessions by the time you attempt to pre-register, then you will not be allowed to attend. In that case, please do not come to the mosque but wait for the pre-registration links of the following week.
If you successfully completed your pre-registration, please note that you can not transfer it to another session or person.
Also, if you do not show up for a Jumah session you are already registered for, you will not be eligible to register next Friday.
Before coming to the mosque, please make sure to:
1. Double check your health condition to verify if you are still eligible to attend. If not eligible, please stay home (please see the following PDF document for current ineligibility criteria).
2. Have a copy of your pre-registration confirmation and your photo ID with you
3. Bring and wear your own face mask
4. Bring your personal prayer mat with you
5. Take your wudu at home. (no wudu taking in mosque washrooms)
Pre-registered and eligible-to-attend congregants will also be required to comply with the following procedures:
When you arrive at the mosque, please:

Community Update on Mosque Reopening: Restrictions and Eligibility Criteria
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahu Wa Barakatuhu.
We pray that our province will continue to smoothly progress in its reopening plan and that Masjid Al Noor will insha’Allah be allowed to welcome its congregants soon.
Unfortunately, even if / when we reopen, we will not be able to use our mosque regularly or at full capacity due to public health restrictions.
Instead, we will be required to minimize all activity and accommodate only a limited number of congregants per session to not exceed:
1. The size of public gatherings allowed by provincial health authorities AND
2. The number of usable prayer spots after applying physical distancing rules
Also, to minimize health risks, YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND THE MOSQUE IF, AS OF THE DAY OF YOUR PLANNED ATTENDANCE:
You have been in contact with a person with confirmed or suspected COVID 19 case in the last 14 days, through your work setting or in your households.
You or any of your household member experience any COVID 19 symptoms during the last 14 days (i.e. new or worsening cough, headache, fatigue or weakness, difficulty breathing, fever, muscle aches, sinus congestion, altered sense of smell or taste, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea)
You have traveled outside the province in the last 14 days, have been directed by a health authority to self-isolate or had a close contact with a person who has recently returned to the province
You are in a high-risk group through a chronic medical condition (i.e. heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, lung disease, kidney disease, liver disease, weak immune system due to transplant, cancer treatment or medication)
You are younger than 12 years or older than 65 years
IF YOU DO NOT FALL IN ANY OF THE ABOVE CATEGORIES:
Then, please stay tuned for MANAL's next community announcement.
Through e-mail and MANAL Website (www.manal.ca), we will communicate important registration and other procedures you will need to follow.
Thanks for your patience, attention, and cooperation.

Update on Alert Level 3 Provincial Reopening
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahu Wa Barakatuhu
As you know, all places of worship, including our local mosque, had been closed since late March to minimize the risk of spread of Covid 19 in our province. For Muslims and members of other faith communities, this had been a sad and challenging time. We feel the pain of the families who lost their beloved ones during this pandemic and pray for a smooth recovery of those who are still fighting the disease.
As of June 8, 2020 and after weeks of almost no new cases, our province has finally moved to Alert Level 3 in its reopening plan. At this level, we are still not able to open our local mosque for public gatherings and congregational prayers.
However, when we will insha'Allah move to next Alert Levels in the near future, we anticipate that our Provincial Chief Medical Officer of Health may be allowing places of worship to reopen with limited capacity and with the condition of observing strict protocols to minimize public health risks.
MANAL has been working on the details of its own reopening plan, taking into account the instructions of provincial public health authorities and the guidelines from the "Canadian Muslim Covid 19 Task Force". Over the next few days and weeks, we will be sending a number of successive community e-mails to keep you informed and updated on our plan. Through these e-mails, we will announce the restrictions, procedures and protocols that must be strictly observed by our Muslim community if and when we will insha'Allah reopen our mosque.
We thank you in advance for your patience, attention and cooperation.
Jazakum Allahu Khairun.
