The Muslim Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (MANAL) is extending heartfelt condolences to all Indigenous Peoples across Canada and is grieving together with them after the recent finding of unmarked mass graves of children on the grounds of former residential schools.
While we pray for the innocent souls who experienced these atrocities, we also stand in solidarity with our Indigenous brothers and sisters for a just and anti-racist system where the dignity and rights of our past, present and future generations are respected and protected.

Community announcement - Solidarity Event at the Mosque on June 18
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Assalamu Alaikum.
In the wake of the tragic killing of a Muslim family in London, Ontario on June 6, a group of local community friends and allies reached out to MANAL to co-organize a solidarity event at Masjid Al Noor.
Accordingly, this Friday (June 18), between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm, there will be a physically distanced outdoor program at our mosque parking lot.
The objective of the event is to provide a safe and respectful forum to honor the memories of the victims and to ask politicians for action against Islamophobia.
We encourage you to join us at 11:30 am tomorrow. When coming to the mosque, please remember to bring your own face mask. If you are driving, please park off Logy Bay Road or at the space by the NTV station. Also, please remember to keep physical distancing throughout the event.
The Jumah prayers will be held as scheduled. But only those who are preregistered via MANAL website will be admitted to the mosque.
If you have any questions, please e-mail us at manal@manal.ca

London Attack
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahu Wa Barakatuhu.
We are shocked and devastated with the recent news of an horrific car attack against a Muslim family in London Ontario which cruelly took the lives of a grandmother, a mother, a father and a daughter, leaving a young son with serious injuries.
It is deeply concerning to see that Islamophobic violence continues to take lives and traumatize our Muslim communities across Canada. While we share the pain of the family and London Muslim community who lost their beloved relatives, friends and neighbors, we stand together with them in their demand for justice. We also urge all fellow Canadians and politicians to work together with us against this increasingly alarming problem with due seriousness and commitment.
May Allah swt give strength to the relatives of the victims and the entire London Muslim community during these extremely difficult times. Our prayers are also for the well being of our young brother who lost his family and suffered severe injuries during this horrific attack.
We advise our own Muslim community of NL to be patient and vigilant and reassure you that your safety and well being is our top priority.
Jazakumullahu Khairan,
