Officials from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) will hold an information session for members of our community on career opportunities within the police force. This session is for those who wish to start their career with the RNC, as well as for those who are contemplating a career change.
The session will cover the following topics:

We would like to thank the members of our Muslim congregation for their kind support to the fundraising which we launched in the aftermath of the devastating fire at the Community Food Sharing Association (CFSA)'s warehouse. Thank you for helping us to raise a total of $5 000 and for dropping so many non-perishable food items at our mosque.
On the second anniversary of this tragedy, the Muslim Association of Newfoundland and Labrador is organizing and hosting two commemorative programs. Please check the program posters for details and join us as we remember and pray together.
MANAL is pleased to inform you that Br. Haseen Khan was recently presented with the Senate of Canada 150th Anniversary Medal in Ottawa. The ceremony was held in the Senate Chamber of the Parliament Hill on October 31, 2018 with the participation of about 80 recipients and their guests. Award was presented by the Speaker of the Senate Hon. George J. Furey, Q.C. and Newfoundland and Labrador Senator Hon. Mohamed Iqbal Ravalia.
According to a Senate of Canada news release, the Medal is awarded to recognize Canadians and permanent residents who, "through generosity, dedication, volunteerism and hard work, make their hometowns, communities, regions, provinces, or territories a better place to live". The award ceremony was featured in November 19th, 2018 edition of the Telegram.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Br. Haseen Khan for this great achievement. May Allah swt be pleased with his volunteer service to our community and for his contributions to our province.
MANAL would also like to thank Hon. Mohamed Iqbal Ravalia, Senator for Newfoundland and Labrador, for nominating Br. Haseen Khan and recognizing his volunteer services to the Muslim community of NL.

The members will elect the President and Vice-President for two year terms.
Any member in good standing is eligible to seek nomination for the two positions.

Alhamdulillah we entered the month of Dhul-Hijjah. InshaAllah Arafat will be on Monday (August 20th) and the first day of Eid al Adha will be on Tuesday (August 21st). May Allah (SWT) bless our community and the whole Muslim Ummah with a happy and peaceful Eid.
