Eid Al Adha Prayers on Morning of Friday, June 6 at New Masjid (Masjid Suleman Dawood)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Assalamu' Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

We would like to share important information with our community as part of Eid Al Adha celebrations.

MANAL is pleased to announce that the day of Arafah will be Thursday June 5th and the first day of Eid will Insha'Allah be Friday June 6th.

There will be two Eid prayers - the first prayer is scheduled to begin at 6:15 am and the second prayer to begin at 9:00 am. Both prayers will be held at Suleman Dawood Mosque (New Masjid) at 135 Torbay Road. Please see the map below for the location.

Eid al Adha Prayer Location (135 Torbay Road)

Note there will be NO Eid prayer at Masjid al-Noor.

When you come for the Eid prayer, please follow these requirements:

*  Eating, drinking, smoking and distributing treat/snack bags are not allowed inside the prayer area

*  Everyone must have wudu at home and bring his/her own prayer mat

Carpooling is recommended to avoid traffic congestion. Parking is allowed ONLY at the designated parking lots. Please follow directions from the RNC and MANAL Volunteers when parking.

Eid Al Adha commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to Allah (SWT). The celebration provides Muslims an opportunity to contemplate the values of sacrifice, patience, submission, obedience and steadfastness in their faith. As per traditions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), fasting during the first nine days of Zul-Hijja is a highly-recommended and highly-rewarded act.

MANAL would like to thank all the volunteers who help us maintain the two Mosques (Masjid Al Noor and Masjid Suleman Dawood) and manage MANAL's operational activities throughout the year.

May Allah (SWT) bless our community and the whole Muslim ummah with a happy and peaceful Eid Al Adha.

JAK,

MANAL Executives

Welcome the Holy Month of Ramadan

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahu Wa Barakatuhu.

Alhamdulillah, we are about to experience the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan. We pray to Allah (SWT) to help us all to build a strong sense of Taqwa during this holy month and to be able to sustain it for the rest of our lives. To improve our level of Taqwa is the true goal of fasting as mentioned in the Holy Quran (2:183).

Please note the following points about MANAL's ongoing Ramadan and Taraweeh planning:

· Insha'Allah, the first day of Ramadan will be on Saturday, March 1 and the first Taraweeh will be on the evening of Friday, February 28.

· Ramadan timetable is posted at www.manal.ca for your convenience.

·  Masjid-al-Noor will be open insha'Allah for Fajr, Maghrib and Ishaa prayers from Monday to Friday and for all five prayers over the weekend.

To maintain peace and discipline in the Mosque during the Holy month of Ramadan, MANAL will require each congregational member to comply with the following requirements:

1. Make wudu at home.

2. Children below the age of six are not allowed in the Mosque during Taraweeh prayer.

3. Parents are requested to make sure that their children pray and stay with them while in the Mosque.

For those who cannot attend Ishaa and Taraweeh in person, there will Insha'Allah be daily live streaming from MANAL's website.

We request you to donate generously during this Holy month to enable us to renovate and inaugurate the new 135 Torbay Road Masjid as soon as possible.

Finally, Zakatul Fitr is $20 per person and we advise you to pay it at your earliest convenience. We wish you and your families Ramadan Kareem.

Jazakumullahu Khairan,

MANAL Executive Committee
